Student support & monitoring

We seek to ensure that all students are fully supported in fulfiling their academic and personal potential at Sir John Cass Redcoat School. Personal Tutors oversee a diverse programme of timetabled group activity, including study and organisational skills development. PSHE, Key Skills, General Studies and Religious Education. All students have opportunities for in-depth consideration of personal and wider social issues, in a friendly and supportive environment. Individual sessions with tutors or Learning Mentors are a regular feature of our academic and pastoral support.

We place great emphasis on planning for success. Students negotiate personal targets with their tutors, which are closely monitored and reviewed. Parents are kept well informed, with two target setting days and full progress reports each year. Parents are also welcome to contact the school at any time.

Some students are eligible for financial support during their time at our Sixth Form. We can offer advice and help with applications for Educational Maintenance Grants, Minor Award Grants and Bursaries.
