Religeous Studies
AS & A2
Qualification To Start The Course
Expected basic GCSE requirements for advance level study – i.e. five grades A*–C at GCSE. You must have gained at least a C grade in a humanities subject (i.e. RE, history, geography). The higher the grades in 'written subjects' (such as English) the easier you will find the reading and written work.
Description Of The Subject
Religious studies looks at "ultimate questions", such as the nature of existence. This is done by a philosophical approach developing skills assessing the validity and strengths of arguments and approaches. These skills are also applied to to understanding a World religion, its history and its beliefs. Debate and discussion are an important element of the course.
What You Will Do
