Qualification To Start The Course

Expected basic GCSE requirements for advance level study – i.e. five grades A*–C at GCSE. You must have gained at least a 'C grade' in English and mathematics.

Description Of The Subject

Psychology is the study of the mind and behaviour. You will explore issues dealing with how and why people behave in a certain ways and what links people's behaviour to the environment.

What You Will Do

  • Acquire an understanding of psychological theories
  • Explore different areas such as memory, intelligence, stress, sleep, eating disorders and schizophrenia
  • Look at research methods and the collection of data
  • Participate in and conduct psychological investigations
  • Analyse and interpret your own or others data and evaluate your findings
  • Discuss ethics in psychology
