Qualification To Start The Course
Expected basic GCSE requirements for advanced level study – i.e. five grades A*–C at GCSE. You must have gained at least a C grade in the subject you are currently studying in the humanities block (i.e. humanities, history, geography).
Description Of The Subject
The geography AS course looks at the interactions of people in the human and natural environment.
It looks at the process of change and how people plan and manage the environment.
The course aims to develop a wide range of investigative and problem solving skills.
What You Will Do
- Investigate a range of local and world issues
- Examine issues in managing the environment and resources
- Assess qusetions of sustainability, growth, conservation and exploitation
- Learn about forces influencing the environment
- Look at how people, government and economic forces make decisions that impact on the environment
