Description Of The Subject
The course includes an opportunity for a cross–curricular approach to key issues in society today as well as developing students' critical and analytical skills including problem solving. Assessment will be through a variety of tasks including data response, short answer response and extended writing – general studies also contributes to the key skills of communication, numeracy and I.C.T.
What You Will Do
- Three modules: conflict, space and power
- Controversies in science and technology
- Society and politics, tension in the modern family, voting and politics
- Arts and the media
- Industry, commerce and the environment
- Beliefs and values, faiths and beliefs, distribution of power.
Future Prospects
All students follow the general studies/general RE programme and have an opportunity to take the AS level examination at the end of the year.
