Qualification To Start The Course
No prior learning in the subject is necessary, however students must have five grades A*–C at GCSE including English and Mathematics.
Description Of The Subject
The course is designed to allow the integration of business themes, such as innovation and changs, social and environmental responsibilities, takeovers and ethical considerations. This is a two-year course – AS modules will be covered in the first year and assessed through one hour external examinations. A2 modules wil be covered in the second year and assessed through 1hr 30min external examinations. Students will be awarded a grade A–E for each unit they complete. The marks will be aggregated at the end of each year and a final grade will be awarded.
What You Will Do
The AS and the A2 comprise three teaching and learning modules each. Students will study the following units:
AS module 1: Marketing and accountancy and finance
AS module 2: People and operations management
AS module 3: External influences and objectives strategy
A2 module 4&5: Marketing and accounting and finance and people and operations management (one examination for both units)
A2 any module: Business report and essay
A2 module 6: External influences and objectives & strategy
