Careers & higher education

Everyone at Sir John Cass Redcoat School is encouraged to think very deeply about the future. Given individual support and guidance, our students are able to carefully explore options and make confident, well informed decisions about Higher Education, training or work when they leave us.

In partnership with Connexions Careers Service, we offer a comprehensive information advice programme. All students are thoroughly interviewed to assess interests and ability, whilst having full access to all the latest literature and multimedia research materials. Specialist staff hold regular advice sessions and skills development seminars, with extra support from our tutorial programme.

Sir John Cass Redcoat School has special links with many universities, offering our students a real taste of life in Higher Education. We work with LSE, London Metropolitan University and Queen Mary & Westfield University College to facilitate the Peer 18 Saturday School scheme, whereby students are paid to attend lectures and revision courses.

Summer and winter school for Business, law, Politics and Mathematics are also popular, as is our summer 'ni-Links' Scheme in association with Leicester University. We give our full support to students who wish to progress to Higher Education, from choosing the right course to filling out application forms and preparing for interviews.

Whilst our Sixth Formers do not wear a uniform, they are expected to dress modestly and respectfully and be positive role models to younger students.
